The 100% electric Nissan LEAF™ is the first mass-produced electric car for everyone. For everyday driving. With full-size room for 5 and speeds of up to 90 mph. There's 100% available torque right off the line and an estimated range of 100 miles.¹

BATTERY TECHNOLOGY AND CHARGING

– LEAF™ runs completely on electricity stored in our most advanced laminated lithium-ion battery ever, that's backed by an 8-year, 100,000-mile battery warranty. Every time you slow down you're generating power, produced by regenerative braking. It's then stored in Nissan LEAF's battery. Your home charging dock will be your primary charging station, and uses a 220/240-V dedicated line. Delivered with a 110/120-V trickle-charge cable, LEAF charges anywhere there is a plug. Plug in at a DC fast-charge station, and reach 80% charge in about 30 minutes. Stay connected and communicate with LEAF remotely through your smartphone or laptop. Schedule off-peak charging, and pre-set the heat or A/C functions from any web-enabled phone or your computer. Your phone keeps you connected, showing your remaining battery charge and drivable distance. Always know your charging status, and be alerted when fully charged. From inside LEAF, see your vehicle and battery status, as well as charging station locations. CARWINGS™, a telematics system, helps you know battery status and drivable distance, then receive an e-mail alert when LEAF is charged. Learn your driving history. Plan your route.²

RANGE MANAGEMENT

– LEAF™ provides lots of info to help you get the most out of every charge and keep an eye on your range. Of course, driving at moderate, more constant speeds is always a good idea. You can pre-heat or pre-cool the cabin, and use a moderate temperature setting while driving. A power meter tracks your power consumption. How much charge is left and how many miles remain in your driving range? The same screen displays both and is updating regularly based on power use and your driving style. The innovative IT system has 8 menus to help you manage trips and optimize performance. Pertinent stats are there, like remaining charge, range in miles and nearby charging spots. See how many miles you'll gain or lose by adjusting the climate controls. Maximizing the distance to empty by limiting motor output, increasing regenerative braking and cutting back on the air conditioning or heating, Eco mode can improve range up to 10% in certain conditions. If your battery is running low, a light comes on and you'll be shown where charging stations are within range. If your battery becomes critically low, the turtle icon lights up. You're in power-limitation mode, which automatically minimizes energy consumption and reduces your speed to help you get to a charging station. For added peace of mind, Nissan provides 3 years of complimentary roadside assistance with every LEAF.

INTERIOR TECHNOLOGY

– LEAF™ is special because it's electric, but it's a real car too. So you'll enjoy the very latest in Nissan technology. From an advanced navigation system to Bluetooth^® and iPod^® connectivity.^3,4,5 The innovative navigation system in LEAF not only gives you the most economical route and points of interest, but displays your range based on location as well as nearby charging spots too.³ Then XM NavTraffic^® has real-time updates.⁶ Keep your eyes on the road, hands on the wheel, and take that call. Use convenient steering-wheel-mounted controls or the navigation touch-screen to make and receive calls. Even store your address book, thanks to the Bluetooth^® Hands-free Phone System.⁴ Your playlist comes along and you can control your MP3 player through steering-wheel-mounted controls, while song info is displayed on the dash display. And of course, the USB input also plays MP3s of a supported USB thumb drive.⁷

PROTECTING MORE THAN THE PLANET

– LEAF™ is built not only to surpass the government's rigorous safety standards, but LEAF's battery pack has been put through a series of extreme stress tests. A triple-protection structure system helps protect and keep the battery intact. In the event of an impact, an impact sensor will cut off the high-voltage power supply. The Nissan Advanced Air Bag System incorporates seat belt sensors and an occupant-classification sensor to inflate the dual-stage supplemental front air bags according to crash severity and seat-belt usage.⁸ Zone Body construction, with front and rear crumple zones and an energy-absorbing steering column, plays an important role in helping to keep you safe. The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) helps make it easy to keep tires properly inflated. LEAF's Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) helpfully monitors your steering and braking inputs and the vehicle's motion.⁹ When the standard Traction Control System (TCS) senses drive-wheel spin, it responds and assists by reducing motor output or applying brake pressure to help maintain traction.
